Machines and Humans: a long path to be run by us…together

🤖Ten years ago: the machines sent a machine from the future to kill Sarah Connor. They failed. Now, the machines will try again🤖

If this short introduction rings a bell, and when you think about the industry going digital, you think about people getting replaced by machines, we have some ideas to share with you.

These machines are NOT replacing anyone, and we have a long path to be run by us…together.

Konstantin von Haugwitz discussed some interesting challenges in industrial automation in an exciting panel along with representatives from DIMOFAC, Integradde & Change2Twin):

🦾 It is worth noting that machines are not replacing anyone since the industry has a massive labour shortage.
🧔 The great paradox of automation is that the desire to eliminate human labour always generates new tasks for humans.

Hannover Messe: what a wonderful experience!

From 3o May until 2 June 2022, PeneloPe was present at the Hannover Messe, the second-to-none event in the industry.

PeneloPe and two other European manufacturing projects of the Factories of the Future initiative (DIMOFAC & INTEGRADDE) were attending a booth where some trending topics dealing with the additive manufacturing field were discussed.

That was a fantastic experience in which we could learn the latest tips on digitalising and automating the industry because, as the old adagio says, it is easier said than done, and updating is a must 😉

Are you interested in making AM a reality in manufacturing certified metal parts? Join the INTEGRADDE community and tell us about your specific challenges.

We are willing to hear from you.

PeneloPe’ Demonstrator, VDL Bus & Coach, wins prestigious ‘Red Dot’ again for design of the new generation Citea

The jury of the world’s most prestigious design competition, Red Dot, gave the award in the ‘Product Design’ category to the new generation Citea. The electric buses from VDL Bus & Coach are entirely based on an electric drive train and have
trend-setting features. The jury praised the “high design quality and excellent
design”.

The Red Dot Award has been awarded annually in several categories since 1955 by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany. This year, the organisation had a record number of entries. The Red Dot Award for the new Citea generation will be presented on 20 June. “The fact that VDL emerged as the victor from such a strong group of participants is testament to the exceptional quality of the product,” judged Professor Dr Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award. “In an evaluation process lasting several days, the entries from all over the world were examined in detail and assessed by experts for their design quality and degree of innovation.”
