The PeneloPe Project
The innovation resulting from PENELOPE project comprises:
A methodology for large-part high precision manufacturing deployment and management, including simulation models, Digital Thread, Digital Twin, online control & inline inspection, solutions integrating current industrial partners factory management systems (ERP, MES, PLM) with PENELOPE solutions, data analytics and AI tools, automatic reconfiguration technologies, virtual commissioning solutions and a broad range of worker-centric tools (VR/AR tools, exoskeletons, mobile robots, etc.) for a flexible and responsive production of high-precision, large-parts. This will offer the European large part manufacturing industry the opportunity to stay at the leading edge.
PeneloPe Innovation Potential
PENELOPE project will develop a methodology linking product-centric data management and production planning and scheduling in a closed-loop digital pipeline.
The innovation resulting from PENELOPE project rely on developing cutting edge technologies such as simulation models, Digital Thread, Digital Twin, online control & inline inspection, data analytics and AI tools, a broad range of worker-centric tools (VR/AR tools, exoskeletons, mobile robots, etc.) towards the future module, flexible factory 4.0.
PENELOPE will be built upon advancing existing technological solutions from previous research project. PENELOPE encompasses representative large-part manufacturing in four EU strategic sectors, addressing both one-of-a-kind (Oil&Gas, Shipbuilding) and low-volume manufacturing (Aeronautics, Bus&Coach).
