PENELOPE relies on Product-centric management by defining an optimised production planning and a selection of process parameters capable of ensuring the manufacturability, quality and dimensions/tolerances of the large-scale part to be manufactured.
- PENELOPE implements a digital pipeline/Digital Thread capable of integrating product and process data, enabling a bidirectional dataflow for an end-to-end digital infrastructure (from the design to the final product), boosting data sharing between product engineering, shop-floor/production and management/supervision, connecting all hierarchy levels and assets (including the factory workers) (Figure 5-a.).

- PENELOPE implements Zero-Defect Manufacturing strategies combining online control, inline quality assurance for an early detection of defects and avoiding its propagation to downstream manufacturing stages, as well as the automatic process parameters tuning and dynamic motion control.
- PENELOPE provides flexible worker-centric solutions, in which operators are digitally connected, physically and mentally supported, improving performance and quality by: i) high-payload collaborative robots for heavy-weight lifting operations as well as acting as work-holding devices; ii) mobile robots and portable manipulators allowing in-process fast re-calibration; iii) exoskeletons supporting operators manufacturing activities; iv) AR/VR tools for construction supervision and for precise positioning of auxiliary equipment
